Do what you think is the right thing to do

This I quoted from "Leaving Microsoft to Change the World" by John Wood. This is a great book. It is hard to put down this book. Beyond reasonable.

This sentence really made me think. John was asking for his father advice; he's about to quit the "dream" job as marketing director in Microsoft to become founder of organization which build libraries, school and give scholarships. His father replied "You are old enough to know that the only person you have to satisfy is yourself. Even your mother and I no longer matter. Don't do anything to please us. Do what you think is the right thing to do and get used to answering only to yourself"
